Volvo XC90 facelift SUV globally unveiled

The new XC90 facelift fascia is now more in line with its all-electric sibling, the EX90.

Volvo has unveiled the facelift version of its flagship SUV, the XC90 for the global market. The new Volvo XC90 facelift now comes with revised exterior and interior design updates, along with a bunch of new features and tech options.

Starting with the exterior design, the new XC90 facelift fascia is now more in line with its all-electric sibling, the EX90. The SUV features new headlamps with T-shaped DRLs, a redesigned grille pattern and a new air dam. The side and rear profiles remain mostly unchanged apart from small tweaks and updates.

Inside, the XC90 facelift retains the same layout as its predecessor but does come with a larger touchscreen infotainment system. Volvo has made ergonomic upgrades to the cabin creating extra storage space in the centre console. Other updates include a tweaked suspension setup with the inclusion of Volvo's Frequency Selective Damping technology.

The Volvo XC90 facelift carries forward the same engine options as before. This includes a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with either a 48V mild-hybrid tech or a plug-in hybrid system. The PHEV version comes with an 18.8 kWh battery pack with an EV-only range of 70 km.

Volvo does offer the outgoing version of the XC90 in the Indian market, which means that the facelift version could also make its way here in the near future. The outgoing XC90 is currently on sale in India at Rs 1.01 crore (ex-showroom).
