New Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT with 631 BHP unveiled

Deliveries of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT will begin from September 2021 in Europe.

Porsche has taken the wraps off their new Cayenne Turbo GT. The SUV is the latest addition to the brand's Cayenne Coupe line-up and is positioned as the new range-topping model.

The new Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT uses the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 as the Turbo Coupe, but features a number of updates. These include revisions to the crankshaft, turbo and intercooler; among others. The new Turbo GT SUV is said to feature a lighter titanium exhaust system as well.

The result is a boost of 90 BHP and 80 Nm over the standard models. The engine on the new Cayenne Turbo GT now produces 631 BHP and 850 Nm. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission which has also been revised, ensuring quicker shifts.

Porsche claims that the new Cayenne Turbo GT is capable of accelerating from 0 - 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 300 km/h. The Turbo GT recently even set a new SUV track record of 7:38.9 at the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Apart from the engine updates, the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is also said to sit 17 mm lower than the standard model. The new SUV also rides on larger 22-inch wheels with specially-designed tyres from Pirelli. The Cayenne Turbo GT is also said to feature a 15 per cent firmer suspension setup and an updated set of carbon composite disc brakes, offering better stopping power.

In terms of design, the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT now comes with larger cooling vents at the front, along with a front spoiler. It also features a carbon fibre roof, rear spoiler and rear diffuser. The new SUV also debuts a new colour scheme, called 'Arctic Grey'.

Inside, the Turbo GT features a mix of Alcantara and leather upholstery for its sport seats. The four-seater performance SUV, now features an updated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto.
