New car launches in India in April 2024

Here is a look at all the important car launches expected to take place in April 2024.

Tata Altroz Racer

The Tata Altroz Racer, a sporty version of the Altroz hatchback, was unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo. While Tata hasn't officially announced an exact launch date, the latest reports do suggest that the hatchback could be launched in the coming weeks.

The Altroz Racer will be positioned at the top of the Altroz line-up and take on the Hyundai i20 N Line. The Altroz Racer is expected to use a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine from the Nexon. It produces 118 BHP and 170 Nm and is likely to be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor

Toyota has released a teaser of its upcoming compact crossover, the Urban Cruiser Taisor - a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. It will be unveiled on April 3, 2024.

The Urban Cruiser Taisor is expected to get the same engine options as the Fronx. These include a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit. Both engines come with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. While the 1.0L engine gets an optional 6-speed automatic, the 1.2L unit will come with a 5-speed AMT.

2024 Skoda Superb

Skoda is bringing back the Superb to India. As per the latest update, the brand’s flagship sedan is likely to be launched on April 3, 2024.

The B8 generation Superb will be reintroduced in India, however, this time, it will be imported via the CBU route. A leaked internal document suggests that Skoda plans to bring 100 units of the Superb. It could be priced at around Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom).

The 2024 Superb will be offered with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 188 BHP @ 4,200-6,000 rpm and 320 Nm @ 1,450-4,200 rpm. The engine will be paired with a 7-speed DSG.

Mahindra XUV300 facelift

Mahindra is yet to confirm the official launch date of the XUV300 facelift. However, the latest spy images reveal a near-production-ready version, indicating it could be unveiled soon.

The XUV300 facelift will carry forward the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. Currently, Mahindra offers a choice of 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic on all engines.

Force Gurkha 5-door

Force Motors has released a teaser of the Gurkha 5-door. While the launch is expected to take place in mid-2024, the 5-door version could be revealed sometime this month.

Under the bonnet, the Gurkha 5-door is expected to get the same 2.6-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine. This unit puts out 91 BHP and 250 Nm and will be paired with a 4-wheel drive system.

New-gen Maruti Swift

Reports suggest that the new Swift will be the first model to get Suzuki's new Z-Series engine. It is said to be a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated 3-cylinder unit, which will replace the current 4-cylinder K-Series engine.
