Mumbai: 10 Olectra-BYD electric buses added to BEST fleet

10 Olectra-BYD eBuzz K7 electric buses have been added to the Brihan Mumbai Electricity Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) fleet.

In November 2017, BEST had deployed 6 electric buses on a trial basis under the government's FAME I scheme.

The eBuzz K7 measures 9 meters in length and can seat up to 32 people. It has air-conditioning, electronically controlled air suspension and CCTV cameras. A non-air-conditioned low floor variant is also available.

Depending on the traffic conditions, the eBuzz K7 has a claimed maximum range of 200 km on a single charge and the battery can be fully charged within 2-3 hours. The bus also has a regenerative braking system.
