After this, locals gathered and roughed up the rider and tied him to a tree. The mob then unleashed its fury on passing motorcyclists unrelated to the incident. Further, riders coming from the opposite side were also targeted.

Few members of a motorcycle group in Bangalore were caught and thrashed by the villagers and their bikes damaged. According to a media report, the bikers had stopped after the accident to check on the situation when the angry mob gathered. Some expensive motorbikes including a BMW and a Harley-Davidson were vandalised by the mob. In one of the videos recorded by a passerby, some people were heard asking the mob not to damage the bikes of the people not involved in the accident.
