India-spec Nissan X-Trail revealed ahead of launch

The X-Trail will rival the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian and the MG Gloster.

Nissan has revealed the fourth-generation X-Trail for the Indian market. The SUV will be officially launched soon as a rival to the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian and the MG Gloster. It will be imported as a CBU.

The Nissan X-Trail is based on the CMF-C platform. It measures 4,680 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, 1,725 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,705 mm. In India, Nissan will offer the 3-row version of the X-Trail.

Powering the X-Trail will be a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with a 12V mild-hybrid system. It produces 160 BHP and 300 Nm and is mated to a shift-by-wire CVT gearbox. It also comes with a limited-slip differential.

The India-spec X-Trail will be equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The SUV also gets features like a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 2-zone automatic climate control, wireless charger, cruise control and an electronic parking brake.

The list of safety features offered on the X-Trail includes 7 airbags, a 360-degree camera, automatic wipers, traction control, hill-start assist, front parking sensors, ABS and EBD.
