MG patents Wuling Binguo electric car in India

MG Motor India has filed a design patent for the Wuling Binguo EV in India.

The Wuling Binguo is a sub-4 meter electric hatchback. Measuring 3,950 mm in length, 1,708 mm in width and 1,580 mm in height - making it is slightly larger than the Tata Tiago.ev.

The four-door EV has a rounded design inspired by models like the Fiat 500 and Nissan Micra. It features large single-pod headlamps and a blanked-out grille at the front, a coupe-like roof line and wraparound LED taillights. Inside, it gets dual-tone interiors, dual screens and a 2-spoke steering wheel.

In the international market, the Binguo is available with three powertrain options. The base version uses a 30 kW electric motor paired with a 17.3 kWh battery, offering a range of 203 km. It also comes with a 50 kW electric motor powered by a 31.9 kWh battery that gives it a range of 333 km (NEDC cycle). Last year, Wuling introduced a 37.9 kWh LFP battery in the Binguo with a range of 410 km on a single charge.
