Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe launched at Rs. 1.20 crore

The GLE 53 Coupe competes with the BMW X6 M and the Porsche Cayenne Coupe.

The Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe is now available in India. The SUV is priced at Rs. 1.20 crore (ex-showroom, India).

The GLE 53 Coupe is a high performance version of the GLE Coupe. It features a coupe-like roofline that gives it a sporty appearance. Besides this, the wheelbase has been shortened by 60 mm compared to the regular GLE Coupe.

On the outside, it gets the sporty AMG treatment with a Panamericana grille and larger vents at the front as well as a diffuser with quad exhausts at the back. The SUV rides on 20-inch alloy wheels, while bigger 21-inch rims are available as an option. On the inside, it gets a 3-spoke AMG steering wheel with aluminium shift paddles and carbon fibre trim on the door pads and dashboard. It has a 12.3-inch touchscreen with the MBUX infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

The GLE 53 Coupe is powered by a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder petrol engine that produces 429 BHP @ 6,100 rpm and 520 Nm @ 1,800-5,800 rpm. The engine features a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that delivers an additional boost of 22 BHP and 250 Nm.

Mercedes claims that the SUV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. The SUV has all-wheel drive and rides on air suspension.
