Maserati to launch Levante Hybrid in India by end-2021

The 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder hybrid motor puts out a healthy 325 BHP and 450 Nm.

Maserati is known for its throaty V8s. However, nowadays, the Italian brand also offers a 4-cylinder hybrid in the Ghibli sedan and Levante SUV. In fact, the latter will soon be arriving in India.

According to a recent report, Maserati is planning to launch the Levante Hybrid in the Indian market by the end of this year. It uses a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 48V hybrid system. The combined output is 325 BHP @ 5,750 rpm and 450 Nm @ 2,250 rpm.

According to Maserati, the hybrid variant weighs less than the 6-cylinder engine equivalent, which results in better weight distribution. The SUV is claimed to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in a very respectable 6 seconds-flat and can hit a top speed of 240 km/h.

On the outside, the Levante Hybrid looks like any other Levante, except for a few minor details like the blue highlights on the side air ducts and blue brake callipers.
