Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV unveiled in India

The XUV400 will compete with the Tata Nexon EV Max, MG ZS EV and the Kona Electric.

Mahindra has taken the wraps off the XUV400 electric SUV. Prices will be announced in January 2023.

The XUV400 measures 4,200 mm in length, 1,821 mm in width and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. The car also has a 378 litre boot.

In terms of its design, the XUV400 is based on the XUV300. It has the same body shell but a few unique touches on the outside. The front grille has been blanked-off and is flanked by LED headlamps that have integrated LED daytime running lights. Also unique to the XUV400 are the copper accents, the copper twin peaks logo and the copper roof.

Inside, the XUV400 comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system offering more than 60 connected car features. The car also offers smart watch connectivity and supports OTA updates.

The XUV400 uses an electric motor that produces 148 BHP and 310 Nm. It comes with three drive modes tuned for steering, throttle response and regeneration. Mahindra claims it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.3 seconds.

 The all-electric SUV is powered by a 39.5 kWh battery pack that is said to offer a maximum range of 456 km (MIDC) on a single charge. The battery can be charged from 0-80% in 50 mins using a DC fast charger.
