Mahindra Furio ICV range unveiled

Mahindra Truck and Bus Division has unveiled its new range of Intermediate Commercial Vehicles (ICV) called Furio.

The Mahindra Furio has been in development since 2014. The company has invested Rs. 600 crore into the project. It is designed by Pininfarina and features a 7-slat grille in the front with silver accents. It has a dual-tone front bumper with circular fog lamps as well as front under-run protection.

The Furio is powered by a new MDI Tech diesel engine. It is claimed to be lightweight and low-friction as well as delivers high torque at low rpms. Additionally, the engine comes equipped with Mahindra's FuelSmart technology. It has multimode switches to optimize fuel consumption depending on the load and road conditions.

According to Mahindra, the Furio range of ICVs has been tested for over 17 lakh kilometers on various road surfaces. The truck has undergone over 1,000 performance tests and subjected to structural durability tests equivalent to 10 years of the vehicle's service life.

The Furio ICV range will be manufactured at Mahindra's Chakan facility near Pune.
