Lockdown and strike at DSK Toyota Pune dealership

DSK Toyota's Hadapsar service center in Pune has been under lockdown for more than 15 days due to workers' strike that has reportedly affected the whole DSK Toyota group.

The strike has gravely affected service schedules of customers from in and around the Pune area. Customers can still get their vehicles serviced at Sharayu Toyota - the only other Toyota dealer in the city. But due to increased load, the waiting period for an appointment has stretched to over 45 days.

The real reason behind the lockdown may not be known at this point of time, however the DSK Group has been going through some financial troubles lately, as reported in various quarters of the media. The conglomerate's issues first came to light when a video of an internal meeting was leaked online. Later, D.S. Kulkarni himself admitted that his company was going through bad times.

Apart from automotive dealerships of brands like Toyota, Benelli and Hyosung, the DSK Group's core business is in real estate. It has been rumoured that haphazard expansion, borrowing and a slowdown in the real estate sector have added to DSK Group's woes.
