Leaked images: Is this the S-Cross facelift?

In what appears to be a leak from a dealer presentation, images of the Suzuki S-Cross facelift have surfaced. One of the images shows extensive changes to the car's front that seem to be in-line with the changes spotted in spy shots.

Updates include a new, almost BMW-esque front grille with vertical slats, added bonnet creases to make the car look more aggressive, a new front bumper and new projector headlamps. It also gets new alloy wheels. The car's interior picture has also been leaked, with no major changes seen as compared to the current car. We can expect updates to the dashboard fascia colour, in-car entertainment system and instrument console.

The report by Paultan states that the car could receive 1.4L and 1.0L Boosterjet petrol engines. The S-Cross was introduced in India last year and is available only with diesel engines (1.3L / 1.6L), manual gearboxes (5-speed / 6-speed) and a front wheel drive configuration. It remains to be seen if the S-Cross will finally get petrol engine options in India, when the S-Cross facelift is launched. In certain markets, the current S-Cross also gets Suzuki's ALLGRIP AWD system, a 1.6L petrol engine and two automatic gearbox options i.e. CVT and TCSS (Twin Clutch System by Suzuki) that haven't been offered in India.

The S-Cross facelift could be offered in select markets in the first half of 2016, but India is likely to see a launch at a later stage. The S-Cross was launched in India last year, but has been available internationally since 2013. Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki has dropped prices of the S-Cross to get units rolling out of showrooms.
