Lamborghini Aventador S to launch in India on March 3

Lamborghini has officially announced that it will be launching the Aventador S in India on March 3, 2017. The Aventador S made its global premiere in December last year.

The Aventador S gets some minor cosmetic updates, including a new front bumper with a longer splitter and a revised rear bumper that houses a larger diffuser. On the inside, the supercar gets a new TFT touchscreen display as standard, which comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Additionally, Lamborghini is also offering a telemetry system as an optional extra, which will help in recording lap times and tracking performance of the car.

Powering the Aventador S is the same 6.5-litre V12 naturally aspirated engine that is found in the regular model. However, it now develops 730 BHP, 40 more than the Aventador coupe. The engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission and churns out 690 Nm of peak torque. This powertrain setup is capable of accelerating the car from 0-100 km/h in a company-claimed time of 2.9 seconds, while its official top speed is marked as 350 km/h.

The Aventador S is also the first production Lamborghini ever to come with a four-wheel steering system. It further gets an updated Lamborghini Magneto-rheological Suspension (LMS), which has been tweaked to be compatible with the new four-wheel steering. Lamborghini has also added a new 'Ego' drive mode to the existing three modes (Strada, Sport and Corsa). This new mode allows the driver to customize the car's drivetrain and suspension settings.
