Suzuki has launched the GSX-8R in India. The middle-weight sportbike is priced at Rs 9.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Suzuki GSX-8R features a hexagonal LED headlamp with a cowling and windscreen designed to improve high-speed stability. It has a sharp-looking fairing with bold graphics and a short muffler.
The bike is fitted with a 5-inch digital instrument console, ride-by-wire, traction control, a bi-directional quickshifter, low rpm assist, ABS, and easy start. It weighs 205 kg and comes with a 14 litre fuel tank.
The GSX-8R is powered by a 776cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 82 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 78 Nm @ 6,800 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via an assist and slipper clutch. The bike rides on a Show SFF-BP upside-down fork and a link-type monoshock at the rear with adjustable preload. Braking is handled by dual 310 mm front discs and a single 240 mm disc at the rear.
In India, the Suzuki GSX-8R is available in three colours: Metallic Matte Sword Silver, Metallic Triton Blue and Metallic Matte Black No.2.
