Porsche Taycan Turbo GT sprints 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds

Taycan Turbo GT also managed to clock a quarter-mile time of 9.3 seconds at 150 mph

The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT has become the first vehicle tested by 'Car&Driver' to accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 2 seconds.

The latest iteration of the Porsche Taycan comes with an electric powertrain which puts out a massive 1,092 BHP - allowing the car to register a 0-60 mph time of 1.9 seconds. This makes the Taycan Turbo GT faster than the likes of the Ferrari SF90, Porsche 918 Spyder and even the Bugatti Veyron.

The record-setting time managed was reportedly the average of the quickest runs in each direction, negating the role or influence of any external factors. The quickest passes on the Taycan Turbo GT were 1.898 seconds in one direction and 1.910 in the other direction.

In addition to the sub-2-seconds 0-60 mph sprint, the Taycan Turbo GT also managed to clock a quarter-mile time of 9.3 seconds at 150 mph - which ties it to the Lucid Air Sapphire and Tesla Model S Plaid tested earlier by the publication.

Another interesting fact of note is that the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT completed the sprint without the Weissach pack - which reduces up to 75 kg by removing the rear seats and a few other elements all around. The car was running on Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tyres. The publication reportedly claims with the Weissach pack, the Taycan Turbo GT's acceleration times could enter the 1.8 seconds ballpark.
