Jeep Compass to launch in India on July 31, 2017

Jeep has announced that the Compass SUV will be launched in India on July 31, 2017. This will be the most affordable Jeep model in the country. The company is relying heavily on the Compass to boost its sales figures.

The Compass will be available in three trim levels - Sport, Longitude and Limited. The Longitude and Limited trims will also get optional variants, which will be priced slightly higher to the regular trims. There will be 5 colour options on offer - Minimal Grey, Exotica Red, Hydro Blue, Vocal White and Hip Hop Black. Variant-wise features and other details of the Compass have already been leaked though our earlier brochure scoop.

In India, the Jeep Compass will initially be available only with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder Multi-Jet II diesel engine. However, a petrol version with a 1.4-litre, four-cylinder Multi-Air engine will also be introduced at a later date. Higher trim levels will be equipped with Jeep's AWD system and Selec-Terrain feature that offers four driving modes - Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud.

The Compass is the first product from Jeep to be produced locally in India. The car is being manufactured at FCA's Ranjangaon facility, which is also responsible for exporting the Compass to all right-hand drive markets across the globe.
