Kia Sonet mid-spec Tech Line variant spotted

Last week, Kia unveiled the Sonet sub-4 meter SUV. The car presented during the world premier was the GT Line trim. Now, some new images of the Sonet Tech Line have surfaced online.

The Tech Line gets quite a few changes over the GT Line. The tiger nose grille has a silver insert instead of chrome, while front bumper has a silver skid plate. The car comes with halogen headlamps and tail lights and does not have fog lamps. While this particular variant misses out on a rear wiper, it does have a rear defogger.

The Kia Sonet will be available with three engine options. These include a 1.0-litre turbo petrol, a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the 1.5-litre diesel comes with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The car also gets a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed iMT clutchless gearbox.

The Kia Sonet shares its platform with the Hyundai Venue. The SUV will be launched during the festive season. It will compete with the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSport.
