Kawasaki Z800 now available at Rs. 7.35 lakh

Japanese two-wheeler major Kawasaki has slashed the price of the Z800 motorcycle in India. The street fighter, which was launched at Rs. 7.90 lakh (ex-showroom Pune), is now available at Rs. 7.35 lakh - a drop of Rs. 55,000. The reduced prices will be valid till March 31, 2015. This price cut is the result of a reduction in the cost of production of the motorcycle in Thailand, where the bike is manufactured.

The Z800 is powered by an 806 cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, in-line 4-cylinder, 4-stroke engine, developing 111.5 bhp @ 10,200 rpm and 83 Nm of torque @ 8,000 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox transmits this power to the rear wheel.

The Z800 is a rival for the Triumph Street Triple. However, its engine is significantly more powerful than the 675 cc, 3-cylinder, 78.2 bhp unit of the Street Triple. The reduced price will make the Z800 even more attractive to enthusiasts.
