Jeep to launch sub-4 meter SUV in 2020

Earlier this year, there were rumours suggesting that Jeep was working on an sub-4 meter SUV for India. Now, according to a media report, this compact SUV could be launched in 2020.

The new model, which is reported to have been condenamed 515, is expected to be positioned below the Renegade and likely to compete with the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport. While technical details are not known, media reports suggest that it could be powered by a downsized version of the 1.6-litre engine from FCA's 'Family B' engine line up.

Jeep's upcoming compact SUV could be built alongside the Compass at FCA's Ranjangaon plant. It could also be offered in other emerging markets like Russia and Brazil.
