Jeep Compass recalled for wiper assembly brace nut issue

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) India has issued a recall for the Jeep Compass to improve the fitment of a brace nut used in the wiper assembly.

A total of 547 units of the Compass manufactured in 2020 have been recalled.

The carmaker has stated that the brace nut should firmly clamp the wiper arm on to the wiper pivot assembly. A malfunction of the brace nut can result in the wipers not swiveling when activated. Tightening the brace nut would improve its grip on the wiper pivot and reduce the risk of a malfunction.

FCA India has started reaching out to owners whose vehicles come under this recall. The tightening of the brace nut will take no more than 15 minutes and will be done free of cost.
