Jeep Compass microsite is now live, video teaser released

Jeep will be unveiling the Compass SUV in India on April 12, 2017. Ahead of the unveil, the American manufacturer has released a teaser video of the SUV, giving us a glimpse into what the India-spec model will look like. A microsite of the Compass has also been made live, where interested customers can submit their contact credentials to know more about the upcoming SUV.

The video indicates that the India-spec Compass will largely be similar to international versions. The teaser also mentions that the SUV will get 4x4 capabilities and many safety-related features.

Jeep hasn’t revealed the powertrain options that will be on offer on the Compass in India. However, speculations suggest that it will get 2.0-litre Multijet diesel and 1.4-litre Multiair petrol engines. A 9-speed AT and a 6-speed MT are the two transmission options that might be on offer. The Compass will also get Jeep's 4x4 system and traction management system that can modify the SUV's characteristics based on the type of terrain - sand, mud, rock, etc.

The Compass will be the first Jeep product to be locally assembled at the FCA production facility in Ranjangaon, Pune.
