Hyundai recalls 7,657 units of Eon over fouling cables

Hyundai has officially recalled 7,657 units of the Eon in India, over alleged fouling of cables in the engine bay. Cars manufactured between January 1 and January 31, 2015 have been affected.

The reason behind this recall is the possibility of the clutch and battery cable intertwining with each other. If the cables are indeed found to be fouling, there are chances about the battery cable getting damaged. In such a case, the company will be replacing the damaged cable, at no extra cost to the customer.

Authorized Hyundai dealerships across the country will be contacting owners of the affected vehicles to inform them about the inspection, which is scheduled to be held in a phased manner. The automaker has also requested affected customers to get their Eons checked at authorized service centres.
