Kia EV6 recalled in India over faulty charging unit

Hyundai had issued a recall for the Ioniq 5 over a similar issue last month.

Kia has recalled 1,138 units of the EV6 electric SUV sold in India over a potential issue with the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU).

According to Kia, the ICCU could stop charging the 12-volt auxiliary battery, which provides power to critical functions like lighting, music system and even the start/stop function. Cars manufactured between March 3, 2022, and April 14, 2023, have been affected by this recall.

Kia has rolled out a software update to rectify this issue and will be reaching out to customers to notify them about the recall. Customers can also visit their nearest Kia dealership to get it resolved.
