1,744 units of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 recalled in India

It is said that the faulty ICCU may discharge the 12V battery in the affected vehicles.

Hyundai has recalled the Ioniq 5 due to a potential issue with the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU). According to Hyundai, 1,744 vehicles manufactured between July 21, 2022, and April 30, 2024, have been recalled.

The ICCU helps power the electronic components like the air-conditioning, infotainment system and seat ventilation. It works as a transformer to reduce voltage from the main battery to the 12V battery. It is said that the ICCU may discharge the 12V battery in the affected vehicles.

Hyundai will reach out to customers to inform them about the recall. Customers will be requested to get their vehicles inspected at the nearest Hyundai dealership, and the issue will be rectified free of cost.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 uses a single electric motor producing 215 BHP and 350 Nm and is powered by a 72.6 kWh battery pack that can cover 631 km on a single charge.
