Hyundai Elite i20 facelift interior spied

Test mules of the Hyundai Elite i20 facelift have been out on the roads since June 2017. Just recently, we posted spy images of the car that revealed a single-frame hexagonal grille among other details. But, now a new set of spy images has surfaced online which gives us a glimpse of the updated interiors of the Elite i20 facelift.

The spy images indicate that the Elite i20 facelift will get dual-tone interiors finished in beige and black with matching dual-tone upholstery. It has a 3-spoke, multi-functional steering wheel similar to the new Verna, a center armrest in the front and two cup holders. The center console features a flat, raked surface that’s slightly angled towards the driver. The automatic variant pictured here comes with a touchscreen infotainment system with voice commands and electric ORVMs. It also has a driver side airbag. Note that the current automatic version is only available in Magna trim, which does not get a touchscreen AVN.

Under the bonnet, the refreshed i20 is expected to use the same range of engines that are offered on the outgoing model. These include an 82 BHP, 1.2-litre unit and 99 BHP, 1.4-litre petrol engines as well as a 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit that produces 89 BHP and 220 Nm of peak torque. Much like the current model, Hyundai might stick with the 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmissions for the petrol versions and a 6-speed manual for the diesel variant.

Hyundai is yet to announce the launch date for the Elite i20 facelift. That said, it likely to be unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo.
