Mercedes-Benz has launched its flagship electric SUV, the Maybach EQS in the Indian market. The new Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV is priced at Rs 2.25 crore (ex-showroom).

Being a Maybach, the electric SUV features a massive black grille panel at the front which features vertical chrome strips, replicating the Maybach waterfall grille. Inside, the SUV features Mercedes' latest MBUX Hyperscreen with Maybach-specific start-up animations. There is a rear-entertainment package which includes dual 11.6-inch displays mounted on the back of the front seats. The seats themselves come upholstered in Nappa leather and feature recline and massage functions. The rear seat passengers also get a centre console with wooden trims and access to the trunk fridge. Other features offered on the Maybach EQS include a Chauffeur package and First-Class rear package with thermal cup holders, a shelf for the rear MBUX tablet, folding tables and plenty of other features and tech.

In India, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS will be offered in a single '680' trim. It comes powered by a 122 kWh battery paired with dual electric motors, producing 658 BHP and 950 Nm. Mercedes claims the Maybach EQS is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and reaching a top speed of 210 km/h. The large battery pack gives the Maybach EQS a max range of 611 km (WLTP cycle) on a single charge. It is also capable of charging from 10-80% in 31 mins via a 200 kW DC fast charger.

The Mercedes-Maybach EQS currently has no direct rivals in the Indian market.
