There have been reports of Mitsubishi working on bringing back the Pajero Sport SUV to the global market. The reports now seem true as the early engineering prototype of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has been spied testing for the first time.
Reports suggest that the prototype, currently in its early stages of development, has the front end from the brand's recently unveiled Triton fitted over the SUV body of the current Pajero Sport. However, given the large wheel well openings, the prototype could have the next-generation chassis (based on the Triton) underneath the SUV body.
Mitsubishi hasn't revealed any details of the upcoming Pajero Sport. However, reports do mention that the SUV will have four-wheel-drive and be powered by the same 2.4-litre 4-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine as on the Triton, which produces 201 BHP and 470 Nm.
Reports also mention that the upcoming Pajero Sport could make its global debut sometime by the end of 2025 or early 2026.
