Honda sues Hero Electric over e-scooter design infringement

Honda Motor Japan has sued Hero Electric over e-scooter design infringement. The company has accused the Indian e-scooter maker of copying its design and has approached the Delhi High Court.

It has been reported that Honda is seeking an ad interim injunction against Hero Electric as the design of the rear cover and front and rear lamps of the Hero Dash are allegedly similar to the registered design of the Honda Moove electric scooter.

The Delhi High Court has asked Hero Electric to respond to the allegations. The court will hear the company's arguments on June 11, 2020.

The Hero Dash was launched last year. The e-scooter is priced at Rs. 62,000.
