Honda Jazz gets dual airbags as standard

Thanks to MyCarHelpline for the heads up!

The Honda Jazz now comes with standard dual airbags (driver and passenger) across its variant line-up. Airbags were earlier equipped with the SV, V and VX trim levels. ABS and EBD are still offered only above the SV variant. With this addition, prices of the E and S trims have been increased by Rs. 12,000. Hence, the Jazz range now starts at Rs. 5.81 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Government of India is stressing on road safety in order to curb rising number of fatal accidents in the country. As a measure, airbags have been made mandatory on all new cars from October 2017. Various automakers have thus started offering airbags as standard across the variant line-up.

The Jazz competes in the premium hatchback segment against the Hyundai Elite i20 and the Maruti Baleno; both of which get dual airbags as standard.

• E MT Petrol: Rs. 5,81,200
• S MT Petrol: Rs. 6,44,800
