Honda Activa 125 bookings open; prices and details revealed

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) unveiled the Activa 125 cc at the 2014 Auto Expo earlier this year. Now the manufacturer has started accepting bookings for the scooter.

The Activa 125 is 53 mm longer and 4 mm taller than the Activa. It also comes with a wheelbase that's longer by 22 mm. The Activa is 6 mm wider than the 125 and both bikes have the same seat height. The Activa 125 comes with a telescopic fork at the front and a spring loaded hydraulic rear suspension.

There are two variants of the Activa 125 available- Standard and Deluxe. While the standard variant has steel wheels and drum brakes all round, the Deluxe comes with alloy wheels, a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. Both variants are equipped with Honda's combi brake system (CBS).

Coming to the engine, the Activa 125 has a 124.9 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder unit, which develops 8.6 bhp @ 6500 rpm and 10.12 Nm of torque @ 5500. Power is sent to the rear wheel through a V-Matic CVT transmission.

The Activa 125 Standard is priced at Rs. 56,000, while the Deluxe will retail at Rs. 61,000. The booking amount for the Activa 125 is Rs. 5,000. The scooter is expected to be launched this month.
