Harley-Davidson Street Glide launched @ 29 lakhs

Harley-Davidson has launched the new 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide in India. Introduced under the motor company’s project Rushmore, the 2014 Street Glide comes to India as a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU) priced at INR 29,00,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). This bike will be available at all 11 Harley-Davidson dealerships across the country.

The bike is powered by a High Output Twin Cam 103 engine generating 138 Nm of peak torque at 3500 rpm with a fuel efficiency of 17.9 kmpl. Equipped with a new camshaft to optimize bottom-end torque and a new high-flow airbox, the HO Twin Cam 103 delivers 5 percent more torque than the standard Twin Cam 103 powertrain in a touring configuration. The result is an improvement in 60-80 mph roll-on acceleration in fifth gear. The new airbox has enhanced the legroom and airflow around the rider.

The new Batwing fairing with splitstream vent located below the windshield alters air pressure behind the fairing and contributes to a reduction in head buffeting to the rider. A one-touch push-button will close the vent to keep rain water off the dash panel area. Apart from the fairing, a reshaped tour-pak and saddlebags with one-touch design elements, sleeker fenders, lighter cast aluminium wheels and new hand control switches are among the changes in the 2014 model.

Harley-Davidson India began operations in August 2009 and appointed its first dealership in July 2010. The Company currently offers 12 models in its 2013 line-up in India assembled at Bawal, Haryana.
