Ford recalls over 48,000 units of EcoSport in India

Ford has recalled approximately 48,000 units of the EcoSport diesel in India. The company plans to install a new bundle clip on the fuel and brake lines of the cars. The recall covers vehicles manufactured between April 2013 and June 2014.

Ford has also recalled approximately 700 units of the EcoSport, made between January 2016 and February 2016, and fitted with a 60:40 split folding rear seat. According to the company, on certain vehicles, the 40% rear seat backrest might have been assembled with defective bolts, which could break.

Ford claims that there have been no customer complaints, accidents or injuries as a result of either of these concerns. The company is asking owners of the affected vehicles to contact their local Ford dealers. The necessary work will be carried out free of charge.
