Ford Freestyle to be launched on April 26, 2018

Ford has announced that the Freestyle will be launched in India on April 26, 2018.

The official website of the Ford Freestyle went live in the first week of this month. According to the website, the car will be available in 4 variants - Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+ in petrol and diesel versions.

The Freestyle is based on the updated Figo hatchback that is expected to be launched later this year. It features a black honeycomb mesh grille in the front flanked by smoked headlamps. The front and rear bumpers have been redesigned and feature C-shaped design elements, which also house the front fog lamps. The bumpers have integrated silver scuff plates as well. Further, the car gets black plastic cladding around the wheel arches and door sills. The B-Pillar along with the ORVMs have been blacked out. The car also features roof rails and rides on 15-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Freestyle gets a dual-tone dashboard with a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre. The system is loaded with Ford's SYNC3 and is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It has a 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and a 3-pod instrument cluster. Features like automatic climate control, automatic headlamps and rain sensing wipers will be offered on select variants. However, safety features like ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, seat belt reminder, high-speed warning and reverse parking sensors will be standard on all variants, while higher variants get Active Rollover Protection.

The Freestyle will be available with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine, which makes 95 BHP @ 6,500 rpm and 120 Nm of torque @ 4,250 rpm. The diesel version will be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine that produces 99 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 215 Nm @ 1,750-3,000 rpm. Both engines will be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
