Ford to display B562 at 2014 Auto Expo

Ford’s new B562 global small car is still under development. But, that will not stop the company from displaying it at the 2014 Auto Expo.

A report by Autocar Professional says that the American auto giant will showcase the car at India’s premier auto event. B562 is the code name given to the Ford Ka, which the company is aiming at emerging markets like Brazil, China and India. Ford took the wraps off the Ka concept in Brazil in November 2013. The launch of the car is expected to take place later this year.

The Ka shown in Brazil had a 1.0-litre, EcoBoost, petrol engine that produced 79 bhp. When it comes to India, we expect Ford to offer the car with a diesel engine as well. It is likely that the Ka will be positioned as a replacement for the ageing Figo, whose sales have been falling. A sedan based on the Ka could also be seen.
