Europe: Ford EcoSport could make a comeback

The new iteration of the popular SUV could make its global debut sometime in mid-2025.

According to reports, Ford is mulling the return of its popular crossover, the EcoSport, in Europe. The Ford EcoSport was a popular SUV, both in India and the international markets, before it was discontinued in 2021 and 2022, respectively.

Now, reports state that Ford could introduce an all-new iteration of the EcoSport to fill the void between its low and premium segments. While Ford does offer the Puma SUV in the B-segment category in Europe, it is still positioned as a premium product, leaving a void in the lower end of the segment.

Reports claim an all-new B-segment SUV has been allocated for series production at Ford's facility in Valencia, Spain. It could be the all-new EcoSport. The new iteration of the popular SUV could make its global debut sometime in mid-2025. Also, the new EcoSport is said to be a "multi-energy vehicle", which means it could be offered with a hybrid powertrain.

The new Ford EcoSport will be larger than the now-discontinued model, measuring around 4.3 metres in length. The SUV will take on the likes of the newly launched Dacia (Renault) Duster in the European market.
