Covid-19: Mahindra to manufacture face shields

Mahindra has developed a face shield for healthcare workers.

The design of the face shield is said to be sourced from Ford. It will be manufactured by associates of Mahindra & Mahindra Kandivali. The company aims to make 500 face shields on Monday. The production will be ramped up gradually.

Last week, Mahindra revealed its affordable ventilator prototype. The company has partnered with an existing medical equipment manufacturer to produce ventilators. They are expected to be priced less than Rs. 7,500.

Maruti Suzuki has also partnered with AgVa Healthcare to produce ventilators. The carmaker will also produce masks and protective clothing for healthcare workers.
