Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe deliveries commence in India

The Basalt is available in three variants: You, Plus and Max, with prices starting from Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Citroen has announced the commencement of deliveries of the Basalt SUV Coupe in India. The car was handed over to the first customer in Delhi in the presence of Citroen Brand CEO Theirry Koskas.

The Citroen Basalt was launched on August 9. The SUV is available in three variants: You, Plus and Max, with prices starting from Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Basalt is an SUV coupe based on the same platform as the C3 Aircross. It is available with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 81 BHP and 115 Nm and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol that puts out 108 BHP and 190 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.

In terms of its design, the Basalt features split headlamps with a set of projectors and V-shaped LED DRLs. It has a coupe-like roofline, large wraparound taillights, a dual-tone rear bumper with a silver skid plate, a black roof and a shark-fin antenna.

The Basalt gets a dual-tone interior with a 3-spoke steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster. The car is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a wireless charger, electrically adjustable ORVMs, and cruise control. The rear seat passengers get dedicated AC vents and contoured headrests.
