Chevrolet Trailblazer prices slashed by Rs. 3.04 lakh

Chevrolet India has slashed prices of its flagship offering - the Trailblazer SUV, by a whopping Rs. 3.04 lakh. After this huge price cut, the Trailblazer, which is on sale in India in a single LTZ trim, is priced at Rs. 23.95 lakh. (Ex-showroom Delhi)

Chevrolet had launched the Trailblazer in India in October 2015. It is brought into the country through the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. As a result, a higher CBU price tag, mediocre equipment levels, absence of a 4x4 variant, and potent competitors like the Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner didn't really allow the Trailblazer to be a successful nameplate in the Indian market. In the past six months, i.e., April 2016 - September 2016, Chevrolet India has sold just 28 units of the SUV.

The said price cut thus appears to be a last resort to slightly boost sales of the Trailblazer. Interestingly, its chief competitor, the Ford Endeavour too got a massive price cut recently. Another arch rival, the Toyota Fortuner, is all set to get an update as its 2016 iteration is scheduled to be launched on November 7. This has built up more pressure on the Trailblazer to survive against its rivals.

Chevrolet is also planning to launch the Trailblazer facelift in the near future, as it has already been spotted testing on Indian roads.
