BMW may be preparing to launch the M5 facelift in India, and may have hence removed the current M5 from the website. The M5 facelift was launched globally in October 2019 and was seen in Pune in October 2020.

The facelift M5 retains the outgoing car's 4.4-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 592 BHP and 750 Nm. The engine in the M5 Competition produces 609 BHP and 750 Nm. In the facelift, both variants get all-wheel drive as standard with multiple drive modes including Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and a new Track mode.
