BMW launches BS6-compliant G 310 R and G 310 GS motorcycles

The BS6-compliant bikes come in striking new colour schemes and are equipped with LED headlights.

BMW Motorrad has launched the BS6-compliant G 310 R and G 310 GS. The bikes are priced at Rs. 2.45 lakh and Rs. 2.85 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.

The BMW G 310 R is a naked street bike, while the G 310 GS is an adventure tourer. As part of the upgrade, both bikes get full-LED headlights, LED turn indicators and LED brake lights. The bikes have a 'Ride by Wire' system and adjustable clutch and brake levers.

Both the bikes are powered by a 313cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that has been updated to comply with BS6 emission norms. It produces 34 BHP @ 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm @ 7,500 rpm and it is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via slipper clutch. BMW claims that the motorcycles can accelerate from 0-50 km/h in 2.5 seconds and have a top speed of 143 km/h.

The G 310 R and G 310 GS feature upside down fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Both bikes come equipped with disc brakes and have 2-channel ABS.

The G 310 R features a 'Style Sport' colour scheme with Limestone metallic colour, red rims and red frame. The G 310 GS features a 'Style Rallye' colour scheme with Kyanite Blue metallic colour and a red frame. The adventure bike also comes in a special '40 Years GS' edition colour scheme based on the classic R 100 GS.

The BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS come with 3-years / unlimited km warranty. Extended warranty for the fourth and fifth year can be purchased for Rs. 16,250. For the first 500 customers, BMW is offering the extended warranty at a special price of Rs. 5,499.
