BMW 320i launched at Rs. 36.90 lakh

BMW has reintroduced the 320i in India. The car is available in two variants - Prestige and Luxury line priced at Rs. 36.90 lakh and  Rs. 42.70 lakh (ex-showroom, all-India) respectively.

BMW had decided to drop the petrol variants from its 3-Series line-up in 2015. Things did not go according to the plan, as the Indian market turned towards the petrol cars. This resulted in BMW struggling to keep up with its rivals - Mercedes-Benz and Audi.

The BMW 320i will be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, TwinPower turbo petrol engine capable of producing 181 BHP and 270 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The company claims that the car can do a 0-100 kph sprint in 7.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 235 kph.

Some of the features available on the 320i include auto start-stop, brake-energy regeneration, iDrive infotainment system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

The 320i is available in Alpine White (non-metallic), Black Sapphire and Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect (metallic) colours. Jatoba metallic paintwork is exclusively available for the Luxury Line.

BMW is importing the 320i as a completely built-up unit (CBU).
