Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS revealed at private event

The Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS has been spotted on test runs on several occasions. In May, it was seen at a dealership as well leading us to believe that it could be launched soon. However, the company has not yet introduced it in the market. Now, Bajaj Auto has revealed the bike at a private event, which could be a dealer briefing.

The Pulsar 200 SS has a full fairing and resembles the Pulsar 400 SS, which was displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo. It shares its platform with the Pulsar 200 NS and has features such as twin projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps and an underbelly exhaust.

The 200 SS is likely to be powered by the same engine as the 200 NS - 199.5 cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, single cylinder that puts out 23.52 PS @ 9500 rpm and 18.3 Nm of torque @ 8000 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. However, for the SS, Bajaj Auto could replace the carburettor with a fuel injection system.

Stopping power will be provided by single disc brakes on both wheels. An ABS unit might be provided as well. Suspension will be a telescopic fork at the front and monoshock at the rear.
