Bajaj Pulsar AS 200 spied in Pune

Bajaj started a wave of speculation after revealing the Pulsar SS 400 and CS 400 at the Delhi auto expo last year. Soon after, the web was abuzz with spy shots of the SS 200. While the motorcycle is yet to be launched, recent images from Indonesia showed the Pulsar 200 NS in a different avatar - named the AS 200. The motorcycle has been spied testing on Indian roads, on the outskirts of Pune.

The motorcycle features a medium sized transparent windshield that extends backwards for better wind deflection. The bike also features a projector headlamp that is offered on the semi-faired Pulsar 220. Additionally, the headlamp housing is fixed to the front semi-fairing. The test mule also shows the bike with a proper rear fender instead of a tyre hugger alone.

The alterations appear to be largely cosmetic. Bajaj has not officially stated any plans for the model and while it may be have been labelled as a tourer version of the 200 NS, the design is more about appearance than tourer functionality. Mechanical changes if any, could see the bike get an improvement in low end torque delivery.
