Audi launches RS7 Sportback in India at Rs. 1.29 crore

Audi has launched the RS7 Sportback in India at a price of Rs. 1,28,56,000 (ex-showroom Mumbai).

The RS7 is powered by a 3993 cc, TFSI, biturbo, V8 engine, coupled to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox. With 560 hp and 700 Nm of torque at its disposal, this is the most powerful car Audi is offering in its line-up, eclipsing the R8 super car. The company claims that the RS7 has a 0-100 kph time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 305 kph. The engine comes with a cylinder management system that deactivates four out of the eight cylinders when they are not required. Audi claims that this system helps the car achieve better fuel economy and low emissions. The car is also equipped with Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system for better traction and control.

The RS7 has a hybrid aluminium body construction, which helps in keeping its weight down. The car sports partly tinted LED headlights, LED rear lights, RS badges, a single-frame honeycomb grille, matte-finished aluminium-look door mirrors and dual oval tailpipes.

20-inch alloy wheels and adaptive air-suspension are on the list of standard equipment for the RS7. Optional features include 21-inch wheels and ceramic brakes.

The interiors of the RS7 are black with carbon inlays and aluminium-finish detailing. Other features include RS-specific driver information system with shift light, MMI navigation plus with touch function, Bose sound system, RS badges, illuminated door-sill strips, and RS sports seats.

In India, Audi is pitting the RS7 Sportback against the BMW M5 and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG.
