Audi has unveiled the new A6 plug-in hybrid, which will be available in sedan and Avant versions.
The A6 PHEV is available in two states of tune. It is powered by a 2.0 TFSI petrol paired with an electric motor with power outputs of 295 BHP and 362 BHP. The 295 BHP with 450 Nm of torque goes from 0 to 100 kph in 6 seconds. The 362 BHP with 500 Nm does the same in 5.3 seconds. The high-voltage battery, now at 25.9 kWh, provides a 45% capacity increase over its predecessor, enabling over 100 kilometres of electric-only driving. Top speed stands at 250 kph. In full EV mode, the top speed is restricted to 140 kph. Charging takes just 2.5 hours at 11 kW.
The car comes with quattro all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering, sports suspension and an electrified dual-clutch gearbox.
Sound insulation has been improved by up to 30 percent compared to the previous model. Additional noise reduction comes from foam rings in the tyres on cars equipped with 19-inch wheels and larger. Audi also reworked the engine and transmission mount bushings and optimized the shape of the gear teeth to reduce mechanical noise.
The new A6 plug-in hybrid will be available for order in Germany from May 8, 2025.
