2017 KTM Duke 200 spotted testing in India

The 2017 KTM Duke 200 has been spotted testing in India, ahead of its expected launch next year. The bike's elder sibling, the 2017 Duke 390 was spotted testing on Indian roads last month. Since the Austrian automaker has started testing the yet to be unveiled bikes in India, the company is expected to launch them here soon after their global premiere.

The new 2017 KTM Duke range is expected to get comprehensive updates. It gets a sharply fabricated fuel tank, new headlamp that is expected to feature LED technology, and a new sub frame. Other details revealed in the new set of spy shots include a new brake lever and master cylinder, a rearranged instrument cluster, and redesigned seats. The ignition key slot has now been moved to the edge of the fuel tank, instead of the conventional placement near the instrument cluster.

The biggest mechanical change is the presence of a side mounted exhaust. The new Duke 200 will be Euro IV compliant, which requires a larger exhaust section. As a result, the new bike dumps the underbelly exhaust and adopts the side mounted unit. It will still be powered by the same 199.5 cc engine from the current model, however power and torque figures will be slightly tweaked.
