2017 KTM 390 Duke spotted at Pune plant

A single image, which is being claimed to be a spy shot of the 2017 KTM 390 Duke, is being circulated on social media platforms. The said image is reported to have been clicked at the company's Chakan manufacturing plant near Pune. If the bike seen in the image is indeed the next-gen 390 Duke, this image is the first ever undisguised spy shot of the upcoming KTM bike in India. The bike has earlier been spied testing in Spain.

KTM seems to have given the Duke a comprehensive makeover, as the bike appears to be an all-new model. The front fascia gets a bifurcated head lamp design, which is likely equipped with LED elements. The minimalistic front headlamp cowl integrates with the fuel tank, while the turn indicators are now slimmer in size. The exposed subframe too appears to be different than the one on the current-gen bike, and has been painted in the KTM orange colour. Other cosmetic changes will include a new instrument cluster, revised switchgear, a redesigned tail section and the underbelly exhaust will be swapped with a side-mounted exhaust end-can layout.

Equipment list of the new KTM 390 Duke will likely continue to have a dual-channel ABS, Metzeller tyres, and WP suspension system.

Powering the all-new KTM 390 Duke will be the same 373.2 cc liquid cooled engine that does the propulsion duty in the current Duke. But the overall tuning and mapping might be fiddled with in order to boost the overall power output by a few horses. It will also get ride by wire and slipper clutch as standard.

The 2017 KTM 390 Duke will be unveiled at the 2016 EICMA show, which is scheduled from 8 to 13 November, 2016.
