10th-gen Honda Accord teased, to be unveiled later this year

Honda has released a teaser image of the 10th-generation Accord, which is expected to be globally unveiled later this year. The revealed image showcases a heavily camouflaged mule of the sedan and doesn't quite reveal the updated model's design details.

Honda has already announced that the new-gen Accord will be re-designed and re-engineered from scratch. It is expected to get a more aggressive stance, owing to sharper character lines around the body panels. Reports also suggest that the new car will be wider and lower than the current model, which will provide a squatter stance to the sedan.

The new Accord is expected to come with two turbocharged petrol engines - a 1.5-litre and a 2.0-litre. These are the same engines that power the new-gen Civic and Civic Type-R, respectively. Both engines will come with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, the 1.5-litre block will be available with the option of a CVT gearbox, while the larger 2.0-litre power plant will be offered with a new 10-speed automatic gearbox.

After its global unveiling later this year, the new Accord is expected to be launched in USA, where it will be manufactured at the company's plants in Ohio and Georgia.
