Yamaha R15 V4.0 & R15 M launched in India

The styling of the new Yamaha R15 is inspired by the YZR-R7.

Yamaha has launched the updated R15 V4.0 and the sportier R15M variant in India. The bikes are priced at Rs. 1,67,800 and Rs. 1,77,800 (ex-showroom) respectively.

The styling of the new Yamaha R15 is inspired by the YZR-R7. It features an LED projector headlamp with LED daytime running lights on either side. It comes with a new digital instrument cluster offering Bluetooth connectivity. It has two display modes - Street and Track.

The R15 is powered by the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the V3.0. It now produces 18.3 BHP and 14.1 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch and quick-shifter.

The R15 is equipped with upside-down forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. It comes with disc brakes at both ends and safety aids like dual-channel ABS and traction control.

The R15M is just a cosmetic package and is offered in a silver paint scheme with blue alloy wheels. The bike is also available in a MotoGP livery.
